Default Configuration
The default timer values are as follows:
• Join timer — 200 milliseconds
• Leave timer — 600 milliseconds
• Leavall timer — 10000 milliseconds
Command Mode
Interface Configuration (Ethernet, port-channel) mode.
User Guidelines
• The timer_value value must be a multiple of 10.
• You must maintain the following relationship for the various timer values:
– ·Leave time must be greater than or equal to three times the join time.
– ·Leave-all time must be greater than the leave time.
• Set the same GARP timer values on all Layer 2-connected devices. If the GARP timers are set
differently on the Layer 2-connected devices, GARP application will not operate successfully.
Example
The following example sets the leave timer for port g8 to 900 milliseconds.
gvrp vlan-creation-forbid
The gvrp vlan-creation-forbid Interface Configuration mode command enables or disables dynamic
VLAN creation. Use the no form of this command to disable dynamic VLAN creation.
Syntax
• gvrp vlan-creation-forbid
• no gvrp vlan-creation-forbid
Default Configuration
By default, dynamic VLAN creation is enabled.
Command Mode
Interface Configuration (Ethernet, port-channel) mode.
Console (config)# interface ethernet g8
Console (config-if)# garp timer leave 900
