Example
The following example exits the MST Configuration mode without saving changes.
spanning-tree pathcost method
The spanning-tree pathcost method Global Configuration mode command sets the default path cost
method. Use the no form of this command to revert to the default setting.
Syntax

spanning-tree pathcost method

Specifies 1 through 200,000,000 range for port path costs
.

short
— Specifies 0 through 65,535 range for port path costs.

Example
The following example sets the default path cost method to "long".
spanning-tree bpdu
The spanning-tree bpdu Global Configuration mode command defines BPDU handling when spanning-
tree is disabled on an interface. Use the no form of this command to revert to the default setting.
Console(config) # spanning-tree mst configuration
Console(config-mst) # abort
Console# spanning-tree pathcost method long
