Example
The following example configures a new Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) group or a
table that maps SNMP users to SNMP views
snmp-server user
The snmp-server user Global Configuration mode command configures a new SNMP Version 3 user. Use
the no form of the command to remove a user.

— The name of the user on the host that connects to the agent. (Range: Up to 30
characters)

groupname
— The name of the group to which the user belongs. (Range: Up to 30 characters)

engineid-string
— Specifies the engine ID of remote SNMP entity to which the user
belongs. The engine ID is concatenated hexadecimal string. Each byte in hexadecimal character
strings is two hexadecimal digits. Each byte can be separated by a period or colon. (Range: 5 - 32
characters)

auth-md5
— The HMAC-MD5-96 authentication level. The user should enter password.

auth-sha
— The HMAC-SHA-96 authentication level. The user should enter password.

password
— A password (not to exceed 32 characters) for authentication and generation of DES
key for privacy. (Range: Up to 30 characters)

and privacy keys.
