Typical Tachometer Mounting The following illustration shows a typical tachometer
mounting arrangement. Mounting without a hinged assembly is all right as long as the tach
wheel can be turned by hand at any point in the machine rotation and does not become too
loose or too tight at any point.

Note
The surface on which the tach wheel rides must NOT be out-of-round. Distortion will cause
poor control and oscillation.
