VIM Messages
Error Message VIM-5-IF_DOWN_ERROR_DISABLED: Interface [chars] is down (Error
disabled)
Explanation The system has detected that the interface has has detected an error during the
configuration.
Recommended Action Collect more information about the failed interface using the command 'show
vim internal interface [char]'. In most cases, you can recover using a 'shutdown' followed a 'no
shutdown' on the interface.
Error Message VIM-5-IF_DOWN_INACTIVE: Interface [chars] is down (Inactive)
Explanation The port VLAN has been suspended or deleted.
Recommended Action Assign a new active port VLAN to the interface.
Error Message VIM-5-IF_DOWN_INITIALIZING: Interface [chars] is down (Initializing)
Explanation The interface is in the process of coming up.
Recommended Action If the interface is stuck in this state for a while, check the output of 'show vim
internal event-history' to determine what it is waiting for.
Error Message VIM-5-IF_DOWN_NON_PARTICIPATING: Interface [chars] is down (Non
participating)
Explanation The interface is not currently attached. The associated VM is powered down or the host
is disconnected.
Recommended Action No action is required.
Error Message VIM-5-IF_DOWN_NONE: Interface [chars] is down (None)
Explanation There is no apparent reason the interface is down.
Recommended Action Collect more information about the port using the command 'show vim internal
event-history interface [char]' to determine why it went down.
Error Message VIM-5-IF_DOWN_OFFLINE: Interface [chars] is down (Offline)
Explanation The interface has been placed into the offline state.
Recommended Action No action is required.
Error Message VIM-5-IF_DOWN_PORT_PROFILE_NOT_FOUND: Interface [chars] is down
Explanation The system has detected that an interface is down because there is no associated profile.
Recommended Action No action is required.
