(3) CRIMPING PROCEDURES
(a) Select one of the crimp tool combinations listed in Table 6/Crimp Tools for Copalum
Terminals .
1) These die sets have terminal lug straighteners on both ends which eliminates the typical
0-15° angle on the wire side of the crimped terminal.
NOTE: For 58422-1 crimp tool head power units, use any power pump generating an
operating pressure of 8000 to 8400 PSI.
For 1752787-1 crimp tool head power units, use any power pump generating an
operating pressure of 9600-10,500 PSI. Do not use air driven (pneumatic) power
pumps. Variable input pressures do not provide required output pressures.

(b) Put the wire in the crimp barrel of the terminal. Refer to Figure 1. Make sure that:
1) All the conductor stands are in the crimp barrel.
2) The end of the wire insulation is against the funnel.
