(10) Put the shield sleeve material on the end of the other cable.
NOTE: If it is necessary, the strands at the end of the shield sleeve material can be moved apart
to make it easier to put the shield sleeve material on the cable.
(11) Make a selection of an applicable Temperature Grade B conductor splice configuration for one
wire to one wire. Refer to Paragraph 9.A.
(12) Assemble the conductor splice. Refer to the applicable procedure given in Paragraph 9.A.
(13) Align one end of the shield sleeve material with the end of the folded back shield. Refer to Figure
206.
(14) Measure the outer diameter of the shield assembly. Refer to Figure 207.
(15) Make a selection of the correct size of two Temperature Grade B or higher Shield-Kons from
Table 36.
(16) Assemble the splice of the shield:
(a) Make a selection of a Shield-Kon crimp tool from Table 48.
(b) Remove the temporary layer of tape around the end of each shield.
(c) Align one end of the shield sleeve material with the end of the shield. Refer to Figure 206.
(d) Put one of the Shield-Kons into the die of the crimp tool.
Make sure that the center of the Shield-Kon is aligned with the center of the die.
