3) Hold the sleeve in position and starting at the tongue end shrink the sleeve with a 750° F or
higher heat gun and reflector (required). Refer to Subject 20-10-14. Make sure a reflector is
used with the heat gun.
4) Continue heating area where adhesive ring is located for two to three minutes, depending
on wire size, until adhesive melts and flows. Adhesive will form a bead or fillet around the
sleeve end.
5) Use a plastic or wooden device to press the sleeve down against the inspection hole while
the sleeve and sealant are still warm.
6) Do not remove any excess adhesive that flows from the sleeve.
7) Install the BACT63E( ) sleeve as shown in Figure 8.
(f) Install the Zone C transition barrel with A-A-59163 insulation tape as follows
