T076 - Robot Initialization Failure
Description GUI Description: The robot did not initialize properly.
Explanation: This RAS ticket is designed to notify the user if the robot cannot
initialize at all. The three items most likely to cause this RAS ticket are, in
order: 1) module terminators and module-to-module cables; 2) cable spool;
and 3) robot assembly. Unless, per the resolution strategy, the customer has
found another damaged part, do not dispatch any other parts until after these
parts have been replaced.
Detection Scenarios • Any time the main door(s) closes and the robot goes through an initialization
sequence.
• At power up of the library if the main door(s) is closed.
Root Causes • Complete loss of connection to robot (such as unplugged cable spool or
equivalent).
• Broken connection to Y-motor.
• Numerous hardware failures on the picker assembly.
• Damaged module terminator or module-to-module cable with bent or broken
pins.
Service Resolution
Steps
1 Perform DR031 -
Resolve Robot Initialization Failure on page 381.
2 If T076 is posted with a T065
, use the FRU(s) listed for T065. Otherwise, use
the FRU list below.
3 Inspect the module terminators and module-to-module cables for loose
connectors or damage (bent or broken pins). If damaged, replace the part.
Reseat the terminators and cables.
Possible CRUs/FRUs Note: Read and perform all resolution steps before dispatching any parts.
Dispatch parts as appropriate based on analysis:
• Module terminators and module-to-module cables
• Cable Spool
• Robot Assembly (For Model 1 robots, order both the Picker Assembly and
the Y-carriage Assembly and replace as a single unit. For Model 2 robots,
replace the entire robot assembly.)
