DR013 - Resolve Drive Connection Issue
This DR provides resolution steps for T018 on page 215.
Problem: The library detected that a library control path-enabled tape drive is connected to an FC I/O blade.
A library control path enabled tape drive must not be connected to an FC I/O blade.
1 View the ticket details to determine which drive is incorrectly connected.
2 .Determine whether the drive should be enabled as a library control path drive, or whether access to the
partition should be configured through the FC I/O blade.
3 If the drive is correctly configured, disconnect the drive from the attached FC I/O blade and connect the
drive directly to the FC SAN.
4 If the drive is not configured correctly and is supposed to be connected to the FC I/O blade, consult the
user documentation to disable the control paththrough the drive.

Problem: The host application attempted to write data to a write-protected tape cartridge.
1 Determine whether the tape cartridge should be write-protected or not.
2 If the tape should not be write-protected, export the tape cartridge from the library via the host
application and correct the problem by manually changing the write protect switch on the tape cartridge.
3 If the tape cartridge is correctly set as read-only, investigate the host application to determine why a
write was attempted.
