392 Troubleshooting the Tape Library
There are two likely scenarios:
• Line of sight from the scanner to the module service tag barcode label is blocked by foreign
material, such as a media barcode label.
• The module service tag barcode label is damaged and the barcode scanner cannot read it reliably.
1 Open the main library doors and look for any obstructions in front of the module service tag barcode
labels.
2 If no obvious foreign material is found, the module service tag is damaged and the EM or CM will need
to be replaced. The library is still operational, but a correction should be scheduled as soon as possible.
3 Contact Service for possible CM or EM replacement.

DR053 - Resolve Network Configuration Issue
This DR provides customer resolution steps for T089 on page 291.

with the network configuration.
1 Check the e-mail and mail server settings on the library to ensure that all values are correct.
2 If the settings are correct, check to make sure the library is properly connected to the network, and make
sure the network cable is not damaged.
3 If there are no problems found, contact your network administrator for assistance.

DR054 - Resolve Open Drive Bay
This DR provides customer resolution steps for T094 on page 295.
Problem: The library has detected that a drive bay has been opened in the rear of the library, and a cover
plate has not been installed. For safety reasons, the robot will run at a slower speed until a drive sled or a
drive cover plate is installed.
1 If a drive sled removal or drive bay cover plate removal was intentional, reinstall a drive sled or install a
drive bay cover plate to resolve this issue. The robot will again move at full speed.
2 If a drive sled removal or drive bay cover plate removal was not intentional, check the back of the library
for any unsecured drive sleds and loose, missing, or damaged drive bay cover plates.
3 Secure all drive sleds and drive cover plates. Contact Service if any drive cover plates are damaged or
missing, or drive sleds or cover plates cannot be secured.
