T064 - LCB Hardware Failure
Description GUI Description: The library controller board experienced a hardware failure.
Explanation: The library encounters an error which appears to be isolated to
hardware on the LCB itself.
Detection Scenarios • Code detects a board-level voltage problem.
• Code detects a board-level temperature problem.
• Code detects a problem with the 48 V fuse on the LCB.
Root Causes • Board-level voltage problems.
• Board-level temperature problems.
• 48 V fuse (not a FRU) on board is blown.
• Loose cable connection on the LCB board.
• Rare faulty display, which interrupts LCB communications.
• Rare power supply problem, where too much voltage is transferred to the
LCB.
Service Resolution
Steps
1 Perform RR002 - Remove and Replace LCB
on page 421. Use Removing
and Replacing the Library Control Blade and LCB Compact Flash Card on
page 102 for further instruction.
2 Look at the LEDs on the back of the LCB. During normal operation, the
green LED should blink once every second, and the blue LED once every 10
seconds.
3 Clear the RAS ticket.
4 Power down the library.
5 Reseat the LCB in the library and power on the library.
Possible CRUs/FRUs Note: Read and perform all resolution steps before dispatching any parts.
Dispatch the first part listed below for replacement. If this does not solve the
problem, dispatch the second part, and so on, in order. Dispatch only one part
(or set of parts) at a time.
