13.2.3 Board replacement (not applicable to Hicom 150 E
OfficeOne)
Peripheral boards can be removed and re-inserted during operation in the case of OfficePro.
Missing or undetected boards do not change the database configuration.
In the case of OfficeCom and OfficePoint, boards can only be replaced when the system power
supply is disconnected.
New boards in available slots are added to the system according to the rules of initial start-up.
The connected ports are assigned default station numbers. Any station numbers which have
been assigned twice must be corrected using Hicom Assistant E. In systems with a default
numbering plan, the station numbers of the new board are appended to the ones already
assigned and numbered continuously in ascending order.
If you replace a board with a board of the same type but with fewer ports, the new board is still
put into operation. The excess stations or lines remain configured in the database.
If you replace a board with a board of the same type but with more ports, this board is put into
operation with the same number of ports as the old board. The additional ports can then be
manually configured.
If you replace a board with a board of a different type, this board will not be automatically put
into operation.
If you want to replace the board with a board of another type or with a board of the same type
but with more ports, the old board must be removed and the corresponding CDB data corrected.
The new board can then be inserted.
13.2.4 Terminal replacement
Terminals can be connected and disconnected during operation. The data of disconnected
terminals is retained.
In the case of optiset terminals of different types, i.e. terminals with different numbers of
programmable keys, the key layout of the previous version is retained. The data of disconnected
add-on devices is also retained. The Hicom Assistant E service tool enables you to delete
disconnected add-on devices and remove any keys that are no longer available on terminals.
