The optiset E key module (AOD, mounted on the side) is an add-on device (mounted on the side) that
provides 16 additional keys, LEDs and labelling areas for all purposes.
A connected key module automatically logs onto the system and is subsequently ready for operation.
The information programmed under the keys is retained when the key module is replaced (stored in
the system).
You can connect up to 4 key modules to an optiset E comfort or an optiset E memory terminal.
9.2.2.3 optiset E acoustic adapter
The optiset E acoustic adapter (TA AO) has three modular ports for connecting external speakers with
amplifiers (separate power supply/external Elektret microphone/second headset port). This adapter is
not designed for connection to an optiset E basic terminal.
9.2.2.4 optiset E analog adapter
The optiset E analog adapter (TA a/b) enables you to connect a terminal (DTMF), group 3 fax
machine, modem or answering machine with an analog interface. The adapter always needs a
plug-type AC adapter for operating the connected analog device.
9.2.2.5 optiset E contact adapter
The optiset E contact adapter (TA BLCO) provides two floating connections (one RJ8 connector each
with the following maximum connection values 24 V AC, 60 V DC, 5 W):
The first connection signals the telephone states
- handset off-hook/line key activated
- speaker on/headset active,
which can be indicated by an external LED (busy lamp).
The second connection signals an incoming call and can be used for controlling a second bell.
9.2.2.6 optiset E control adapter
The optiset E control adapter (TA API) is used to connect a PC and a headset (not on an optiset E
basic device). The adapter can operate in two different modes:
API1 mode supports simple functions for dialling outgoing numbers (as a replacement for the
dialling aid interface DAI), which is no longer marketed

control adapter in API1 mode
