6.2.2.5 LAN Bridge for telematic functions
A "virtual CAPI" (common ISDN application programming interface) interface is provided on the PC
side to offer all PCs in the internal LAN ISDN functionality with respect to telematic functions.
In relation to PC applications, this "vCAPI" behaves like a real ISDN card with a CAPI interface
integrated locally on the PC. The following ISDN functions must be offered by the vCAPI:
Outgoing and incoming group 3 fax machine with direct inward dialling
T-Online
ISDN file transfer with X.75/64 kBit/s (e.g. Eurofile transfer)
Channel bundling for file transfer can be implemented using the appropriate application.
Up to 64 extensions are administered per port (no more than 176). A PC is automatically logged on to
LAN Bridge each time the vCAPI is started up, i.e. when an ISDN application that uses vCAPI is
called up.
