7.3 Features for general outgoing traffic
7.3.1 DTMF Transmission During a Call
Definition
You can activate the "DTMF transmission" feature while engaged in an internal or external call by
pressing a key or entering a code. From this point on, all keystrokes from the dialling keypad are
transmitted in the form of DTMF digits. If a call is placed to a port configured for voice mail from an
optiset E terminal, the connection automatically switches over to DTMF mode once it has been set up.
Alternatively, you can automatically switch over to DTMF mode after each successful connection
setup (even with CMI). The feature is configured system-wide (automatic DTMF).
Activating the transfer, enquiry, shuttle and call pickup features as well as answering a camped-on
call deactivates DTMF mode.
The DTMF characteristic (pulse/pause) can be configured in the system.
