12.5.2 Testing the radio quality
Introduction
When walking through the radio cell with the mobile telephone (activated measuring mode) a number
of test functions can be carried out (e.g. handover between the base stations).
Activated measuring mode can reduce operating functions. For this reason, it must not be
used by the customer.
Procedure: activating radio quality measurement,
(switching mobile telephone to measuring mode/protection status)
Step Entry/key MT display
1. Switch on mobile telephone.
Mobile telephone and base station are in
synchronous/connection status if the
synchronism symbol "
" is on.
When synchronism is lost, the symbol " "
flashes, and it is no longer possible to carry out
any actions on the mobile telephone.
2. Protect status:
Briefly hit the on/off/protect key
The mobile telephone is in protect status: outgoing
calls cannot be set up, however incoming calls can be
received.
3. Measuring mode:
Key sequence
After about 2 seconds in each case, the MT display is
overwritten with the current measurement result.
