7.14 Host Link Interface (CSTA Interface)
Definition
The Hicom 150 E Office system and the applications running on the host computers (Plus products)
communicate via a V.24 system interface (2400/9600 bauds) or an S
0
interface configured as an
extension.
Up to and including Release 2.1 of the Hicom 150 E system, the two systems communicated on the
basis of the ACL-H2 protocol. With the introduction of the Hicom 150 E Office system, the CSTA
Phase II protocol (Computer Supported Telecommunications Applications) standardised by ECMA
was implemented.
In order to be able to continue supporting Plus Products on an ACL-H2 basis, a so-called converter
with the following tasks must be integrated:
Hicom 150 E Office direction: all messages and message procedures known from the ACL-H2
protocol must be converted into the CSTA protocol.
Plus Product direction: conversion of the CSTA protocol into messages and message
procedures of the ACL-H2 protocol.
The converter is implemented as a driver, which can run under MS-Windows 95. The interfaces V.24,
X.75 (B channel access) and EDSS1 (USBS) are supported.
