Coin Hopper Troubleshooting
Not Communicating is displayed in the Hopper Reset Menu
1) Perform a power reset.
Prior to disconnecting VAC power from the Note Handler/UPS, perform a “Shut Down
Computer”.
Log In > Exit > Shut Down Computer
2) Perform a “Clear Errors” from the Coin Recycler Menu
Log In > Status (bottom tool bar) > Coin Recycler > Clear Errors
3) Check “Hopper Reset” and “Hopper Statistics” menus to determine which Hopper may be
causing the error.
Log In > Maintenance > Hopper Reset / Hopper Statistics
If the Hopper Maintenance Menu indicates a SINGLE Hopper is non-functional:
a) Insure the Hopper is properly seated.
b) Perform a reset from the Coin Hopper Maintenance Menu.
Log In > Maintenance > Hopper Reset
c) Remove the Hopper from the rack and check the condition of the (2) power/data sockets
as well as the (wiring socket to Hopper base) wiring connection.
d) Check the Hopper wiring harness connection at terminal J4 on the Hardware Support
PCB.
e) Possible defective Hopper.
If the Hopper Maintenance Menu indicates a ALL Hoppers are non-functional:
a) Check the VDC cable harness at the top/rear of the Note Handler and Coin Handler
Vaults.
b) Check the Coin Vault data cable connection (RJ-45) at the top/rear of the Note Handler
Vault and Coin Handler Vault.
c) Check the Coin Vault data cable connection (RJ-45) at the front of the Control Computer
and at the rear/inside coupler (inside the Electronics Bay).
d) Check the data cable connection at terminal J15 on the Hardware Support PCB.
e) Check the Hopper wiring harness connection at terminal J4 on the Hardware Support
PCB.
f) Remove a Hopper (one at a time with VAC power disconnected) then reconnect VAC
power and check the Hopper statistics
Log In > More > Maintenance Menu > Hopper Statistics
If the remaining Hoppers now respond, the removed Hopper may be defective.
g) Check the +24 VDC Power Supply output voltages on the front of the Power Supply
Chassis.
If incorrect, the +24 VDC Power Supply may be defective or require adjustment.
h) If voltage is correct, check the +24 VDC input at the Hardware Support PCB.
If correct, the Hardware Support PCB may be defective
