INSTALL
NOTE: The 2 wheel nuts must be installed on the
studs shown to allow the installation of the wheel
cover (Fig. 14).
(1) Align the valve notch in the wheel cover with
the valve stem on the wheel (Fig. 15). Align the two
holes in the wheel cover having the retaining tabs,
with the two installed and properly tightened wheel
nuts (Fig. 15).
(2) Press in on center of wheel cover until retain-
ing tabs on wheel cover engage with wheel nuts. This
will hold the wheel cover to the wheel.
(3) Install the three remaining wheel nuts.
(4) Tighten all 5 wheel nuts to a torque of 135 N·m
(100 ft. lbs.).
TIRE AND WHEEL ASSEMBLY
ALUMINUM WHEEL
REMOVAL
(1) Raise the vehicle so the tire and wheel assem-
bly clears ground level.
(2) Remove the 5 wheel mounting nuts from the
studs.
(3) Remove the tire and wheel from the hub.
INSTALLATION
NOTE: Never use oil or grease on studs or wheel
mounting nuts.
(1) To install the wheel, first position it properly
on the hub mounting surface using the hub pilot as a
guide. Loosely install all 5 wheel mounting nuts. All
wheel nuts should then be tightened just snug. Next,
progressively tighten them in the proper sequence
(Fig. 16). Finally, tighten wheel mounting nuts to 135
N·m (100 ft. lbs.).
(2) Lower the vehicle.
STEEL WHEEL
REMOVAL
(1) Raise the vehicle so the tire and wheel assem-
bly clears ground level.
(2) Remove the three wheel nuts, (Fig. 17) used to
lock the wheel cover to the wheel.
