(8) Remove the 3 bolts attaching the junction block
to the mounting bracket.
(9) Remove the junction block from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
(1) Install the junction block to the mounting
bracket using the 3 attaching bolts. Tighten bolts to
26 N·m (230 in. lbs.).
(2) Install the 2 brake tubes, from the primary and
secondary master cylinder ports, to the top rear cor-
ners of the junction block. Tighten the tube fittings
to 17 N·m (145 in. lbs.).
(3) Install the 4 chassis brake tubes to the junction
block. Tighten the tube fittings to 17 N·m (145 in.
lbs.).
(4) Reinstall the inner fender shield.
(5) Lower the vehicle to the ground.
(6) Remove the brake pedal holding tool.
(7) Bleed the Brake system. See Bleeding Brake
System in the Service Adjustments section of the
manual for proper bleeding procedure.
PROPORTIONING VALVE
REMOVE
(1) Raise the vehicle on jack stands or centered on
a hoist. See hoisting in the Lubrication and Mainte-
nance section of this manual.
(2) Clean any debris away from the proportioning
valve, connections, and area.
(3) Remove the chassis brake tube (Fig. 49) from
the proportioning valve.
(4) Remove the proportioning valve from the rear
flex hose which is held stationary by a bracket
mounted on the back side of the crossmember.
INSTALL
(1) Install the proportioning valve to the rear
brake flex hose. Tighten to a torque of 17 N·m (145
in. lbs.).
(2) Install the chassis brake tube to the propor-
tioning valve (Fig. 49). Tighten the tube nut to a
torque of 17 N·m (145 in. lbs.).
(3) Bleed the affected brake line. See Bleeding
Brake System in the Service Adjustments section of
the manual for proper bleeding procedure.
(4) Lower the vehicle to the ground.
DISC BRAKE CALIPER (FRONT)
NOTE: Before proceeding with this procedure,
review SERVICE WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS at the
beginning of the REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
section.
REMOVAL
(1) Raise vehicle on jackstands or centered on a
hoist. See Hoisting in the Lubrication and Mainte-
nance section of this manual.
(2) Remove front wheel and tire assemblies from
vehicle.
(3) Remove the 2 caliper assembly to steering
knuckle guide pin bolts (Fig. 50).
(4) Remove caliper assembly from steering
knuckle. Proceed by first rotating top of caliper away
from steering knuckle and then lifting caliper off bot-
tom machined abutment on steering knuckle (Fig.
51).
