DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING
DAYTIME RUNNING LAMP
The Daytime Running Light Module (DRL Module)
is controlled by inputs received from the ignition
switch and High or Low Beam Headlamp relays,
Park Brake switch, and the Brake Fluid Level
switch. Refer to Group 8W, Wiring Diagrams, for
component location and circuit information.
ILLUMINATED ENTRY
When testing the system, all doors must be closed
to prevent courtesy lamps from lighting. Verify that
remote keyless entry system is operating properly
before testing illuminated entry circuits. The body
controller uses input from the remote keyless entry
system to switch ON the courtesy lamps.
Refer to Group 8W, Wiring Diagrams, for compo-
nent location and circuit information. Refer to Body
Systems Diagnostic Procedures Manual for complete
diagnostic information.
ALL OTHER LIGHTING SYSTEMS
Refer to Group 8W, Wiring Diagrams, for compo-
nent locations and circuit information. For additional
diagnostic information, refer to the appropriate Body
Diagnostic Procedures manual.
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
HEADLAMP HOUSING – CONCORDE/LHS/300M
Headlamp lens fogging is a normal condition
and does not require service unless excessive
or continual. Moisture will vent from tubes or
vents located on the back of the lamp.
REMOVAL
(1) Release hood latch and open hood.
(2) Remove large rubber grommet (70 mm x 168
mm) from splash shield to gain access to fascia fas-
teners (Fig. 1).
(3) Remove fasteners attaching fascia to the front
fender and splash shield, using access hole in splash
shield (Fig. 2).
(4) Remove the push pins attaching the fascia to
the upper radiator closure panel (Fig. 3).
(5) Remove jackscrews attaching headlamp hous-
ing to crossmember and remove the lamp housing to
access the lamp(s) (Fig. 4).
(6) Roll fascia forward to clear way for headlamp
housing removal (Fig. 5).
(7) Disconnect wire connector from back of lamp
socket(s) and/or bulbs.
