REAR SEAT BELT RETRACTOR
CAUTION: Inspect the condition of the shoulder
belt and lap belt. Replace any belt that is cut,
frayed, torn, or damaged in any way. Also, replace
the shoulder belt if the retractor is either damaged
or inoperative.
REMOVAL
(1) Remove seat cushion and back.
(2) Remove upper quarter trim panel.
(3) Remove lower quarter trim panel.
(4) Remove nut attaching lower seat belt anchor to
floor.
(5) Remove turning loop bolt.
(6) Remove bolt attaching belt retractor to quarter
panel..
(7) Remove belt from vehicle.
INSTALLATION
(1) Place belt in position on vehicle.
(2) Install bolt to attach belt retractor to quarter
panel.
(3) Install the turning loop.
(4) Route anchor end of seat belt through upper
quarter trim opening. Tighten to 60 N·m (44 ft. lbs.).
(5) Install nut to attach lower seat belt anchor to
floor.
(5) Tighten nut to 60 N·m (44 ft. lbs.) torque.
(6) Install lower quarter trim panel.
(7) Install upper quarter trim panels.
(8) Install seat back and cushion.
CHILD TETHER ASSEMBLY
REMOVAL
(1) Flip up child tether cover to allow access to
child tether bracket retaining bolt.
(2) Remove bracket retaining bolt, anchor plate,
cap and spacer from rear shelf.
INSTALLATION
(1) Position spacer, cap, anchor plate and retaining
bolt on the rear shelf.
(2) Be certain dog point on the tether bracket is
inserted in the hole on the rear shelf panel.
(3) Start retaining bolt by hand and while holding
bracket in position, torque bolt to 20 N·m (180 in.
lbs.).
NOTE: Be certain the dog point of the tether
bracket is inserted in hole on rear shelf panel after
installation.
(4) Close child tether cap.
