(4) Rock vehicle side-to-side three times to allow
suspension to stabilize.
(5) Jounce front suspension three times by pushing
downward on front bumper and releasing.
(6) Measure the distance from the center of the
headlamp bulbs to the floor (623 mm or 24.5 in. by
design). Transfer measurement to the alignment
screen (with tape). Use this line for up/down adjust-
ment reference.
(7) Measure distance from the center line of the
vehicle to the center of the low beam headlamp bulbs
(670 mm or 26.4 in. by design). Transfer measure-
ments to screen (with tape) to each side of vehicle
center line. Use these lines for left/right adjustment
reference.
NOTE: There are reference marks on the lens to
assist in locating the lamp centers.
HEADLAMP ADJUSTMENT
NOTE: HEADLAMPS MUST BE ALIGNED WITH THE
HEADLAMP LEVELING MOTOR IN THE “0” POSI-
TION.
(Fig. 1). The low beams should be aimed such that
the cut-off is 1% below the horizontal centerline
established in step 6 of the alignment screen prepa-
ration. For a 7.25m (25ft.) aiming distance, this is
75mm (3in.). For a standard 10m European aiming
screen, this 100mm (4in.). The vertical aim can be
adjusted by turning the adjusting screw on the top of
the leveling motor.
