Chapter 17 DLPs D1 to D99
DLP- D97 Provision a High-Order Circuit Source and Destination
Step 5 Click Add Span. The span is added to the Included Spans list and the span arrow turns blue.
Step 6 Repeat Steps 2 through 5 until the circuit is provisioned from the source to the destination node through
all intermediary nodes. If Fully Protect Path is checked in the Circuit Routing Preferences area, you
must:
Add two spans for each SNCP ring or unprotected portions of the circuit route from the source to
the destination.
Add one span for each MS-SPRing or 1+1 portions of route from the source to the destination.
For circuits routed on SNCP DRI topologies, provision the working and protect paths as well as the
spans between the DRI nodes.
Step 7 Return to your originating procedure (NTP).
DLP-D97 Provision a High-Order Circuit Source and Destination
Step 1 From the Node drop-down list, choose the node where the circuit will originate.
Step 2 From the Slot drop-down list, choose the slot containing the high-order card where the circuit will
originate. (If a card’s capacity is fully utilized, it does not appear in the list.)
Step 3 Depending on the circuit origination card, choose the source port and/or VC-4 from the Port and VC-4
drop-down lists. The Port drop-down list is only available if the card has multiple ports. VC-4s are not
shown if they are already in use by other circuits.
Note The VC4s that appear depend on the card, circuit size, and protection scheme. For example, if
you create an VC4 circuit on an STM-4 card in an SNCP ring, four VC4s are available. If you
create an VC4 circuit on an STM-4 card in an MS-SPRing, two VC4s are available because of
the MS-SPRing protection characteristics.
Purpose This task provisions the source and destination for a high-order optical
circuit.
