Introduction
ThischapterprovidesanoverviewoftheEnterasysB5’suniquefeaturesandfunctionality,an
overviewofthetasksthatmaybeaccomplishedusingtheCLIinterface,anoverviewofwaysto
managetheswitch,factorydefaultsettings,andinformationabouthowtousetheCommandLine
Interfacetoconfiguretheswitch.
Enterasys B5 CLI Overview
TheEnterasysNetworksEnterasysB5CLIinterfaceallowsyoutoperformavarietyofnetwork
managementtasks,includingthefollowing:
•UseCLIcommandstoperformnetworkmanagementandswitchconfigurationoperations.
• Downloadanewfirmwareimage.
• AssignIPaddressandsubnetmask.
•Selectadefaultgateway.
•EstablishandmanageVirtualLocalAreaNetworks
(VLANs).
•Establishandmanagepolicyprofilesandclassifications.
•Establishandmanagepriorityclassification.
• Configuresecurityprotocols,including802.1XandRADIUS,SSHv2,PWA,MAClocking,and
MACauthentication.
