OncetheSecureStackB3devicehasavalidIPaddress,youcanestablishaTelnetsessionfromany
TCP/IPbasednodeonthenetwork.Forinformationaboutsettingtheswitch’sIPaddress,referto
setipaddressonpage 39.
ToestablishaTelnetsession:
1. Telnettotheswitch’sIPaddress.
2. Enterlogin(username)andpasswordinformationinoneofthefollowingways:
–Iftheswitch’sdefaultloginandpasswordsettingshavenotbeenchanged,followthe
stepslistedinUsingaDefaultUserAccountonpage 16,or
–Enteranadministrativelyconfiguredusernameandpassword.

Logging In
Bydefault,theSecureStackB3switchisconfiguredwiththreeuserloginaccounts—rofor
ReadOnlyaccess,rwforReadWriteaccess, andadminforsuperuseraccesstoallmodifiable
parameters.Thedefaultpasswordissettoablankstring.Forinformationonchangingthese
defaultsettings,referto
SettingUserAccountsandPasswordsonpage 31.
Using a Default User Account
IfthisisthefirsttimeyouareloggingintotheSecureSt ackB3switch,orifthedefaultuser
accountshavenotbeenadministrativelychanged,proceedasfollows:
