Mode
Routerglobalconfigurationmode:B3(su)‐>router(Config)#
Usage
Thiscommandenablesinterfaceconfigurationmodefromglobalconfigurationmode,and,ifthe
interfacehasnotpreviouslybeencreated,thiscommandcreatesanewroutinginterface.For
detailsonconfigurationmodessupportedbytheSecureStackB3deviceandtheiruses,referto
Table 16‐2in“EnablingRouterConfigurationModes”on
page 16‐2.
VLANsmustbecreatedfromtheswitchCLIbeforetheycanbeconfiguredforIProuting.For
detailsoncreatingVLANsandconfiguringthemforIP,referto“EnablingRouterConfiguration
Modes”onpage 16‐2.
EachVLANinterfacemustbeconfiguredforroutingseparatelyusingtheinterfacecommand.
To
endconfigurationononeinterfacebeforeconfiguringanother,typeexitatthecommandprompt.
Enablinginterfaceconfigurationmodeisrequiredforcompletinginterface‐specificconfiguration
tasks.Foranexampleofhowthesecommandsareused,referto“Pre‐RoutingConfiguration
Tasks”onpage 16‐1.
EachSecureStackB3systemcan
supportupto24routinginterfaces.Eachinterfacecanbe
configuredfortheRIProutingprotocol.

Usethiscommandtodisplayinformation,includingadministrativestatus,IPaddress,MTU
(MaximumTransmissionUnit)sizeandbandwidth,andACLconfigurations,forinterfaces
configuredforIP.
