7.4 Analyzing POST Results
POST has three categories of messages:
“Error Messages” on page 7-18
“Warning Messages” on page 7-20
“Info Messages” on page 7-20
7.4.1 Error Messages
When an error occurs during POST, an error message is displayed. The error
message is bounded by the text ERROR and END_ERROR. Several error messages
might be displayed at different times of the POST process for any single error
condition.
The following error examples were caused by a defective 1 GB DIMM in the slot
labeled DIMM0. The first error message occurred when the DIMMs were probed:
