E. Start Lever Removal

CAUTION
YOU MUST BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE THE COMPONENTS FROM
THE CONTROL STAND. DAMAGE TO THE SWITCHES, LIGHTS,
LIGHTPLATES, NUTPLATES, WIRE BUNDLES AND THE PAINTED FINISH ON
ALL THE PARTS CAN OCCUR.
(1) Disconnect electrical connector [205], electrical connector [206], electrical connector [207], and
electrical connector [208] from the electrical connector panels.

(2) Remove the four clamps [210] from wire bundle [202] and the four clamps [210] from wire
bundle [209]:
(a) Remove one bolt [211] and two washers [212] from each clamp [210].

(3) Remove the two clamps [210] from wire bundle [202] and the two clamps [210] from wire
bundle [209]:
(a) Remove one bolt [211] and two washers [212] from each clamp [210].

(4) Remove the lens cap [229] from the two engine start levers [201].

(5) Remove the engine control lightplate [213] by loosening the three captive fasteners.

(6) Remove the five screws [216] that hold the face plate [218] to the control stand and tilt the
forward edge back approximately 90 degrees for service access.

(7) Carefully remove from the face plate [218], two engine start levers [201], the wire bundle [202]
and wire bundle [209], the electrical connector [205], electrical connector [206], electrical
connector [207] and electrical connector [208] out of the control stand.
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the lightplate connector [228] from the face plate [218] to
have service access to the engine start levers [201].
NOTE: Spacers from other wire bundles may need to be loosened to allow movement when
removing the engine start lever wire bundle through the service access.

(8) Remove the two engine start levers [201], the two nuts [214], the two keying washers [217],
and the two lockwashers [215] from the face plate [218].
NOTE: Engine start levers that are part of the replacement wire bundle assembly P/N
254A1221-13/14 do not have keying washers [217] installed.
