Purpose
Todisableorre‐enablelinktraps,displaylinktrapstatus,andtoconfigurethelinkflapping
detectionfunction.Bydefault,allportsareenabledtosendSNMPtrapmessagesindi cating
changestotheirlinkstatus(upordown).
Thelinkflapfunctiondetectswhenalinkisgoingupand
downrapidly(alsocalled“link
flapping”)onaphysicalport,andtakestherequiredactions(disableport,andeventuallysend
notificationtrap)tostopsuchacondition.Ifleftunresolved,the“linkflapping”conditioncanbe
detrimentaltonetworkstabilitybecauseitcantriggerSpanning Treeandroutingtable
recalculation.

UsethiscommandtodisplaywhethertheportisenabledforgeneratinganSNMPtrapmessageif
itslinkstatechanges.
