-
-Nak is NAS response packet to a Disconnect-Request, which
indicates that the session was not disconnected.
-
-Request is a RADIUS packet type sent to a NAS requesting that
a user or session be disconnected.
Distribution certificate is used for digitally signing iOS mobile apps to enable
enterprise app distribution. It verifies the identity of the app publisher.
Digital Living Network Alliance. DLNA is a set of interoperability guidelines for
sharing digital media among multimedia devices.
Dynamic Multicast Optimization. DMO is a process of converting multicast
streams into unicast streams over a
wireless link to enhance the quality and
reliability of streaming videos, while preserving the bandwidth available to
non-video clients.
Distinguished Name. A series of fields in a digital certificate that, taken to-
gether, constitute the unique
identity of the person or device that owns the
digital certificate. Common fields in a DN include country, state, locality, or-
ganization, organizational unit, and the “common name”, which is the primary
name used to identify the certificate.
me System. A DNS server functions as a phone book for the in-
tranet and Internet users. It converts human
-readable computer host names
into IP addresses and IP addresses into host names. It stores several rec-
ords for a domain name such as an address 'A' rec
ord, name server (NS),
and mail exchanger (MX) records. The Address 'A' record is the most im-
portant record that is stored in a DNS server, because it provides the re-
quired IP address for a network peripheral or element.
Data over Cable Service Int
erface Specification. A telecommunication stand-
ard for Internet access through cable modem.
Denial of Service. DoS is any type of attack where the attackers send exces-
sive messages to flood traffic and thereby preventing the legitimate users
from accessing the service.
Dead Peer Detection. A method used by the network devices to detect the
availability of the peer devices.
Deep Packet Inspection. DPI is an advanced method of network packet filter-
ing that is used for inspecting data packets ex
changed between the devices
and systems over a network. DPI functions at the Application layer of the
Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) reference model and enables users to
identify, categorize, track, reroute, or stop packets passing through a net-
work.
Downloadable Regulatory Table. The DRT feature allows new regulatory
approvals to be distributed for APs without a software upgrade or patch.
Differentiated Services. The DS specification aims to provide uninterrupted
quality of service by managing
and controlling the network traffic, so that
certain types of traffic get precedence.
Differentiated Services Code Point. DSCP is a 6
-bit packet header value
used for traffic classification and priority assignment.
Digital Subscriber Line. The DSL technology allows the transmission of digital
data over telephone lines. A DSL modem is a device used for connecting a
computer or router to a telephone line that offers connectivity to the Internet.
