A free r
otaon scan can be acquired from either the head end or from the doctor or nurse sides. You
can dene the start and end posion of a free rotaon scan within the constraints of the rotaon scan
session.
Free rotaon scans start with seng the start and end posions. Rotaon scans can be subtracted by
acquiring two runs. Best pracce is to acquire a mask run followed by a contrast run.
NOTE BodyGuard sensors are switched o during a rotaon scan.
6.16.1 Performing a Fixed Rotaonal Scan
You can perform a xed rotaonal scan to provide a 3D image of the vessel.
In a xed rotaonal scan, the start and end posions are predened.
1 Posion the region of interest in the isocenter.
For more informaon, see Isocentering (page 90).
2 Select the X-ray Sengs task on the touch screen module.
3 Select the rotaonal scan X-ray protocol you want to use.
Step 1 Sengs of the rotaonal scan wizard is displayed.
4 Select the detailed sengs for the X-ray protocol in the Sengs step.
5 From the control module, posion the detector in landscape or portrait posion.
6 Select the maximum source-to-image distance.
7 Select the desired eld of view.
8 Clear all objects from the rotaonal arc of the C-arm.
9 Switch Injector Coupling on or o as desired.
a If you switch Injector Coupling on, set the X-ray Delay me.
10 Tap Next on the touch screen module.
Step 2 End posion of the rotaonal scan wizard is displayed.
11 Press Accept on the control module to move to the xed end posion.
Step 3 Start posion of the rotaonal scan wizard is displayed.
12 Press Accept on the control module to move to the xed start posion.
13 If injector coupling is switched on, prepare the injector.
14 Start acquision using the exposure hand switch or the exposure foot switch pedal, and hold unl
the exposure stops.
NOTE BodyGuard is disabled during image ac
quision.
6.16.2 Performing a Free Rotaonal Scan
You can perform a free rotaonal scan to provide a 3D impression of a vessel based on 2D images.
In a free rotaonal scan, you can dene the start and end posions.
