Only use an injector system that has a c
ompability statement for the X-ray system in use. For more
informaon, see Connecng an Injector (page 203). Using any other injector system may result in the
injecon of an excessive amount of contrast medium. The operator is responsible for the amount of
contrast medium administered to the paent.
Two modes of injector coupling operaon are available:
Coupled
Uncoupled
In uncoupled mode, the hand and foot switches control X-ray only, and injecon is controlled by the
injector hand switch.
In coupled mode, you can have one or two-switch operaon modes. For more informaon, see Injector
Control Methods (page 390).
Injecon ming and exposure is calculated, depending on the selected sengs.
You can manually adjust the X-ray delay me determined by the protocol sengs. The value range is
from 0 to 40 seconds, in steps of 0.5 seconds.
6.11.1 Uncoupled Operaon
You can acquire images with injector coupling uncoupled.
When injector coupling is uncoupled, you must trigger the injector manually at the appropriate me
using the injector hand switch.
You can select uncoupled operaon using the touch screen module or the acquision window.
1 Select the X-ray Sengs task.
2 Select the X-ray protocol.
3 If injector coupling is on, tap Coupling to switch injector coupling o.
4 Start and stop injecon by pressing and releasing the injector hand switch.
5 Start and stop acquision by pressing and releasing the hand switch or the foot switch.
6.11.2 Coupled Operaon
You can control injecon of contrast medium automacally using injector coupling.
You can specify a delay between injecon of contrast and acquision of images to ensure that the
contrast is visible at the region of interest. This is known as the X-ray delay.
NOTE Coupled operaon is not available for every X-ray protocol.
You can congure the system to uncouple aer every exposure run to prevent unintenonal injecon
of contrast medium. The system can be customized by technical support, so that the injector is not
uncoupled aer each exposure run and procedure change, but is only uncoupled following selecon of
a new paent.
1 Select the X-ray Sengs task.
2 Select the X-ray protocol.
3 If injector coupling is o, tap Coupling to switch injector coupling on.
4 Adjust the X-ray delay me using + or -.
