16.24 Symbols Used on the Equipment
CE Label
This symbol indicates that the equipment complies with the European Communies regulaon. The
number of the noed body is indicated, if applicable.
Canadian Standards Associaon
This s
ymbol indicates that the component has been tested and cered by the Canadian Standards
Associaon to comply with the applicable U.S. and Canadian Standards.
Product Disposal
This s
ymbol indicates that the equipment contains materials that are harmful to the environment if
disposed of incorrectly.
IPXX
IP s
tands for Internaonal Protecon. The IP code indicates the degree of protecon of an enclosure
and is regulated by IEC 60529. The rst digit indicates the degree of protecon for dust or solid objects,
and the second digit indicates the protecon against ingress of water.
For example:
• IP00 indicates that the enclosure is not protected.
• IP24 indicates that the enclosure is protected against objects larger than 12 mm (ngers), and is
protected against splashing water from any direcon.
Class II Equipment
This symbol indicates that the equipment meets the safety requirements specied for Class II
equipment (without the use of protecve earth connecon).
Manufacturer
This s
ymbol idenes the medical device manufacturer, as dened in EU Direcve 93/42/EEC. The date
of manufacture, as well as the name and address of the manufacturer, can be combined in one symbol.
