16.24 Symbols Used on the Equipment
CE Label
This symbol indicates that the equipment complies with the European Communies regulaon. The
number of the noed body is indicated, if applicable.
Canadian Standards Associaon
This s
ymbol indicates that the component has been tested and cered by the Canadian Standards
Associaon to comply with the applicable U.S. and Canadian Standards.
Product Disposal
This s
ymbol indicates that the equipment contains materials that are harmful to the environment if
disposed of incorrectly.
IPXX
IP s
tands for Internaonal Protecon. The IP code indicates the degree of protecon of an enclosure
and is regulated by IEC 60529. The rst digit indicates the degree of protecon for dust or solid objects,
and the second digit indicates the protecon against ingress of water.
For example:
IP00 indicates that the enclosure is not protected.
IP24 indicates that the enclosure is protected against objects larger than 12 mm (ngers), and is
protected against splashing water from any direcon.
Class II Equipment
This symbol indicates that the equipment meets the safety requirements specied for Class II
equipment (without the use of protecve earth connecon).
Manufacturer
This s
ymbol idenes the medical device manufacturer, as dened in EU Direcve 93/42/EEC. The date
of manufacture, as well as the name and address of the manufacturer, can be combined in one symbol.
