NOTE The dose rao numbers may dier per procedure and per uoroscopy avor.
Mulphase Sengs
The vascular exposure procedure contains the default duraon and frame speed per phase.
For these procedures it is possible to manually change the frame speed and duraon per phase. For
more informaon about changing frame speed and duraon, see Changing Mulphase Acquision
Sengs (page 97).
The reference air kerma is dened per image and will not change at dierent frame speeds. However,
the cumulave skin dose is directly related to the frame speed and so, if the frame speed in one phase
is reduced by 50%, the cumulave skin dose in that phase is also reduced by 50%.
Conclusion: Consider lowering the frame speed, if possible.
Shuers and Wedges
When you apply proper collimaon, direct irradiaon of body parts not needed for the procedure is
prevented.
This reduces the dose area product and the sta dose, although the reference air kerma and the (peak)
skin dose are not inuenced.
In general, for example, 25% collimaon of the irradiated area will reduce the dose area product by
25%.
