the connected equipment must comply with the requirements for medical electrical systems as
specied in the IE
C 60601-1 standard.
Voltages
Dangerous electrical voltages are present within the system. Covers or cables should only be removed
by qualied and authorized service personnel.
Do not touch electrical connectors on the paent table or on the monitor ceiling suspension while
simultaneously touching the paent. Connector contact pins may carry low voltages that are safe to
touch, but that may be harmful to the paent.
Electrical Grounding (Earth)
You can only connect medical equipment to the system if that equipment is galvanically isolated from
the system. For medical equipment interfacing using Ethernet, video, or USB, galvanic isolaon is
ensured by using a wall connecon box. For more informaon, contact technical support.
Protecon Against Paent Leakage Current
An equipotenal ground connecon point is provided at the base of the paent table. If an operang
table is installed, the ground connecon point is located on the surgery wall connecon box. For more
informaon, contact technical support.
Cables
Electrical current may sll be present in cables that are no longer connected to the system, but that are
sll connected to the wall connecon box. Store these cables on the cable holder outside the paent
environment. If the cable holder is located inside the paent environment, ensure that the connectors
are covered with a rubber cap. If a cap is not available, take precauons to prevent cable connectors
from coming into contact with liquids.
Do not use mulple socket outlets or extension cables for installing or connecng any part of the
system. Such cables can compromise the electrical safety of the system, especially for equipment in the
examinaon room near the paent.
Cleaning
Switch the system o before cleaning or disinfecng it. Do not use cleaning agents or damp cloths on
connector contact pins. For more informaon, see Cleaning and Disinfecng (page 251).
2.3 Mechanical Safety
This secon provides informaon about how to avoid collisions when using the system.
Stand and Table
WARNING
During manual and mot
orized movements of the stand or the table, the operator is responsible for
the safety of paent, sta, and equipment. Avoid collisions to prevent serious injury to paent and
sta, or damage to the equipment.
Collisions may occur in the following situaons:
With the stand in any posion, the tabletop may hit the stand during the longitudinal, lateral, and
height movements of the tabletop. Collisions may also occur during lt movements, if applicable.
With the stand at the head end of the tabletop, the stand may hit the tabletop during angulaon or
rotaon movements.
