- Line. The line password is used for authentication.

The user's name and password are authenticated using the TACACS

8. Click the Add
button.
The login list is added to the switch.
Configure an Enable Authentication List
An enable list specifies the authentication methods to validate privileged EXEC access for
the users associated with the list. The preconfigured users, admin and guest, are assigned to
a preconfigured list named defaultList, which you cannot delete. All newly created users are
also assigned to the defaultList until you specifically assign them to a different list. Two
default lists are present: enableList and enableNetList.
To configure an enable authentication list:
1. Launch a web browser.
2. In the address field of your web browser, enter the IP address of the switch.
The login window opens.
3. Enter the user name and password.
The default admin user name is
admin and the default admin password is blank, that is,
do not enter a password.
4. Click the Login button.
The System Information page displays.
5. Select Security > Management Security >
Authentication List > Enable
Authentication
List.
6. To create a new enable list, enter the name in the List Name field.
It can be up to 15 alphanumeric characters long and is not case-sensitive.
7. In the columns in table header (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), select the method to appear first in the
selected authentication enable list.
