MOTD
banner motd
Overview Use this command to change the text MOTD (Message-of-the-Day) banner
displayed before login. The MOTD banner is displayed on all connected terminals.
The MOTD banner is useful for sending messages that affect all network users, for
example, any imminent system shutdowns.
Use the no variant of this command to not display a text MOTD
(Message-of-the-Day) banner on login.
Syntax
banner motd <motd-text>
no banner motd
Default By default, the device displays the AlliedWare Plus™ OS version and build date
before login.
Mode Global Configuration
Examples To configure a MOTD banner to be displayed when you log in, enter the following
commands:
awplus>enable
awplus#configure terminal
awplus(config)#banner motd system shutdown at 6pm
awplus(config)#exit
awplus#exit
system shutdown at 6pm
awplus login: manager
