The R&S SMW processes the waveform file.
4.7.4.2 How to Create Waveform Files with the Built-In "Generate Waveform File" Func-
tion
Several digital standards provide the special function "Generate Waveform File". This
function enables the calculation and storage of the signal as a waveform file that can
be afterwards played by the ARB generator.
To generate an EUTRA/LTE waveform file
1. Select "Baseband > EUTRA/LTE"
2. Adjust the settings as required, for example:
a) select "Link Direction > Downlink"
b) select a predefined test model, "Test Setups/Models > E-TM1_1__10MHz"
3. Enable "EUTRA/LTE > State > On".
4. Select "Generate Waveform File".
Navigate through the directory tree (e.g. /var/user/).
Enter a filename (e.g. lte_waveform) .
Select "Save"
The R&S SMW stores the generated waveform file lte_waveform.wv under the
selected directory /var/user/.
To process the waveform file, load it in the ARB (see Chapter 4.7.4.3, "How to
Load and Play Waveform Files", on page 317).
4.7.4.3 How to Load and Play Waveform Files
Irrespectively on the way a waveform file is generated, you can transfer it on the instru-
ment, load it in the ARB and play it.
To load and play a waveform file
