9. Observe the graph on the "Pulse Graph" tab.
Enabling pulse modulation
1. Select the "Pulse Modulation" tab.
2. Set "State = On".
3. Set "RF > On" to enable signal output.

7.7.6.1 Simultaneous Operation of Several Modulations
The table shows the modulations and operating modes that can be activated simulta-
neously (+) or which deactivate each other (-).
To perform for example I/Q modulation and an analog frequency or phase modulation
in one path simultaneously, option R&S SMW-B13T must be installed.

7.8 Improving Level Performance
To comply to the measurement requirements, the R&S SMW features various func-
tions to optimize the RF signal level:
Attenuator
The electronic step attenuator provides e.g. the generation of a constant VSWR
(uninterrupted level) signal, highest level accuracy, noise suppression or compen-
sation of external losses of cables.
See Chapter 7.8.1, "Attenuator", on page 521.
ALC
The automatic level control system stabilizes the RF signal level over temperature
and time.
