R&S Waveform File Format
The header of the generated I/Q data files consists of "tags" which are enclosed in bra-
ces { }. During data export, the header information is written to a *.wv file.
For detailed description on all available tags and for information on how to query them
or to create waveforms manually, refer to Chapter 13.18.4.4, "Waveform, Data and List
Format", on page 961.
4.8 Generating Multi-Segment Waveform Files
Modern chip technologies implement several communication standards within one chip
and rise special verification and test requirements. To fulfill the requirements of these
test systems and to enable rapid alternation between different waveforms with differing
test signals, the R&S SMW provides the functionality to generate multi-segment wave-
form files.
This section introduces the concept of the multi-segment waveform files, together with
description of the provided settings and some typical configuration examples.
Generation of multi-segment waveform files is possible in configurations with separa-
ted baseband sources ("System Configuration > Fading/Baseband Config > BB Source
Configuration > Separated").
4.8.1 Required Options
See Chapter 4.7.1, "Required Options", on page 300.
Multi-segment waveform files require the corresponding Digital Standard options
(R&S SMW-K2xx) of all included standards.
4.8.2 About the Multi-Segment Waveforms
A multi-segment waveform is a composed signal that contains several multiple inde-
pendent waveforms called segments. Each segment is an independent waveform that
can be output with its own marker and clock settings.
The Figure 4-17 shows the principle of building a multi-segment waveform.
