configure vrrp vlan vrid preempt
configure vrrp vlan <vlan_name> vrid <vridval> preempt
Description
Specifies that a higher priority backup router preempts a lower priority master.
Syntax Description
Default
The default setting is preempt.
Usage Guidelines
The preempt mode controls whether a higher priority backup router preempts a lower priority master.
preempt allows preemption. The router that owns the virtual IP address always preempts, independent
of the setting of this parameter.
Example
The following command allows preemption:
configure vrrp vlan vlan-1 vrid 1 preempt
History
This command was first available in ExtremeWare XOS 10.1.
Platform Availability
This command is available on all platforms.
vlan_name Specifies the name of a VRRP VLAN.
vridval Specifies a VRRP Virtual Router ID (VRID). Value can be in the range of 1-
255.
