5.2.2.2 set snmp user
Use this command to create a new SNMPv3 user.
set snmp user user [authentication md5 [privacy]] [remote remoteid] [volatile |
nonvolatile]

Command Defaults
• If authentication is not specified, no authentication will be applied.
• If privacy is not specified, no encryption will be applied.

Output What It Displays...
EngineId SNMP local engine identifier.
Username SNMPv1 or v2 community name or SNMPv3 user
name.
Auth protocol Type of authentication protocol applied to this
user.
Privacy protocol Whether a privacy protocol is applied when
authentication protocol is in use.
Storage Type Whether access entries for this group are stored in
volatile, nonvolatile or read-only memory.
Row status Status of this entry: active, notInService, or
notReady.
user Specifies a name for the SNMPv3 user.
authentication md5 (Optional) Specifies the authentication type required for
this user as MD5.
privacy (Optional) Applies DES encryption.
remote remoteid (Optional) Registers the user on a specific remote SNMP
engine.
volatile |

(Optional) Specifies a storage type for this user entry.
