13.1.4 Configuring IRDP
Purpose
To enable and configure the ICMP Router Discovery Protocol (IRDP) on an interface. This protocol
enables a host to determine the address of a router it can use as a default gateway.
Commands
The commands needed to enable and configure IRDP are listed below and described in the
associated section as shown:
• ip irdp (Section 13.1.4.1)
• ip irdp maxadvertinterval (Section 13.1.4.2)
• ip irdp minadvertinterval (Section 13.1.4.3)
• ip irdp holdtime (Section 13.1.4.4)
• ip irdp preference (Section 13.1.4.5)
• ip irdp address (Section 13.1.4.6)
• no ip irdp multicast (Section 13.1.4.7)
• show ip irdp (Section 13.1.4.8)
13.1.4.1 ip irdp
Use this command to enable or disable IRDP on an interface.
ip irdp
Syntax Description
None.
Command Syntax of the “no” Form
The “no” form of this command disables IRDP on an interface:
no ip irdp
