USING FILE NAME CONVENTIONS 2
Introduction 2
Scan and sequence recipes and data can be saved, as well as graphs and video images.
In the Windows OS naming convention only the following special characters are
allowed:

1. When saving a file, click File to display its menu. Click the Save… button. A
dialog box appears. The content and appearance differ slightly depending on
what is being saved and the screen from which
Save… was chosen.
2. Choose the appropriate folder in which to store the item being saved.
3. Create a distinct file name for the item being saved. It is best to make the name
representative of the content of the file if possible. The name can be up to 72
characters in length and should not contain empty spaces. Enter the file name in
the file name field.
4. Set any other necessary options required to properly store the information in the
file. For example you may see a setting to change the content format of the file
to either
Statistics or Trace. These options are only for sequence data.
5. Click
Save to save the data in the named file.
SAVING VIDEO IMAGES 2
Introduction 2
A video image can be captured in the XY View window and saved to a file. Many
standard image output file formats are supported.
Naming and Saving Video Images Procedure 2
1. Go to either the XY View or Theta View window, and click the View menu.
2. Select
Save Image to File to display the Save Image As dialog box.
3. Choose the location in which the image is to be saved.
4. Next to
File name, enter a name for the image file that is to be created.
5. Select the format that the image is to be saved in.
6. Click
Save to save the video image.
