Installing the SV9100 Blades
SECTION 1 GENERAL INFORMATION
This chapter contains information to help the technician install the blades for the
UNIVERGE SV9100 system. The technician should be familiar with this section
before installing any equipment.
1.1 Slot Locations
Each CHS2UG-US has six slots. In the Controlling Chassis, the GCD-CP10 (for
Key Systems) must be installed in the first slot (slot 1). In the CHS2UG GW-US
and CHS2UG B-US, the GCD-CP10 must be installed in the first slot (slot 1).
Slot Locations in the CHS2UG-US (19” Controlling Chassis):
 Slot 1 – dedicated for the CPU
 Slots 2~6 – universal
Slot Locating in the CHS2UG-US (19” Expansion Chassis):
 Slots 1~6 are universal. (i.e., any type of blade except the CPU can be installed
in these slots).
Slot Locations in the CHS2UG GW-US and CHS2UG B-US Base (9.5” Chassis):
 Slot 1 – CPU
 Slots 2 and 3 – universal
Slot Locations in the 9.5” CHS2UG B-US and CHS2UG E (Controlling Chassis
with CPU):
 Slot 1 – CPU
 Slots 2~6 – universal
Slot Locations in the 9.5” CHS2UG B-US and CHS2UG E (Expansion Chassis no
CPU):
 Slots 1~6 – universal
