Migration tasks
The information in this section is based on the assumption that the media server complex is
installed, configured, and operational.

CAUTION:
CAUTION: This migration affects service because when you turn off the processor port
network (PPN), the system drops all calls. Service returns when the media server
takes control of the IPSIs.
The general migration procedures are as follows:
● Turn off the processor gracefully - preconversion administration
● Replace the processor circuit pack or tone clock circuit pack with an IP Server Interface
(IPSI) circuit pack
● Connect the IPSI circuit pack to the Ethernet switch on the customer network
● Assign an IP address to the SIPI circuit pack
You can reuse the translations from the existing system when you migrate to an S8400 Media
Server.
