Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
(DHCP)
Dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) is an application layer protocol that dynamically assigns IP
addresses and other configuration parameters to network end-stations (hosts) based on the
configuration policies the network administrators determine.
The Dell Networking operating system supports the basic DHCP commands on the S4810 platform.

Commands to Configure the System to be a DHCP Server
To configure the system to be a DHCP server, use the following commands.
clear ip dhcp
Reset the DHCP counters.

Syntax
clear ip dhcp [binding {address} | conflict | server
statistics]
Parameters
binding Enter the keyword binding to delete all entries in the
binding table.
address Enter the IP address to clear the binding entry for a single IP
address.
conflicts Enter the keyword conflicts to delete all of the log entries
created for IP address conflicts.
server statistics Enter the keywords server statistics to clear all the
server counter information.
