8.6.2.6 DHCP Snooping Option
DHCP snooping-enabled switch may receive DHCP messages with various different
options from clients, which cause DHCP server hard to manage client’s information in the
perspective of data consistency. That’s why this function is necessary.
The switch operating DHCP snooping can modify or attach an option field of the DHCP
messages with the defined snooping option and can forward them to DHCP server. The
snooping option can be applied on a port basis or on entire ports.
Before using this function, a global DHCPv6 option format should be created and
configured. For details of setting the DHCP option format, refer to the 8.6.4 DHCPv6
Option.
To enter the DHCPv6 option mode, use the following command.
ipv6 dhcp option format NAME
Enters the DHCPv6 option mode to configure the
DHCPv6 option format.
NAME: DHCPv6 option format name
no ipv6 dhcp option format
NAME
Deletes the given DHCPv6 option format.
